About Us

BaLMUN would like to announce the 10th Banja Luka International MUN conference to be held in Banja Luka from 21st to 23rd April of 2023. The conference will be hosted by “Gimnazija Banja Luka” located in the centre of the city of Banja Luka.

BaLMUN conference is a two-day simulation of the work of the United Nations and includes Security Council and Human Rights Council. Through the participation in the BaLMUN conference high school students, aged 14 to 19, will try to become more informed and effective citizens of the world community.

This year's BaLMUN conference marks 10 years of work with hundreds of students being born as delegates in its core. Considering that, out of gratitude and willingness to sustain and develop the quality of our work, we have established two BaLMUN committees at the university level. This will be an opportunity to recall an ever-lasting excitement of a good debate and bring back encouragment to the spirit.
The aim of the conference is to seek solutions to the various problems of the world through discussion, negotiation and debate. At BaLMUN, students play the roles of diplomats and learn to negotiate and debate in the formal way of the UN. According to the rules, every delegation represents one member-state of the UN but not their own one. Before the conference participants should research and prepare draft resolutions on the issues of the agenda (from the view of the country they represent). The official language of BaLMUN is English.

BaLMUN offers the Model United Nations conference, located in the beautiful city of Banja Luka. The city of Banja Luka is the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the administrative capital and largest city of the Republic of Srpska entity, located in the north-western part of the country. The city lies on the Vrbas river and is well known in the countries of the Former Yugoslavia for being full of tree-lined avenues, boulevards, gardens and parks.
